WORSHIP

WORSHIP SERVICES

“Let us give thanks, by which we offer to God an acceptable worship with reverence and awe.” Hebrews 12:28

ABOUT OUR WORSHIP

The clarion call of the Reformation of the Church in the sixteenth century was that we find salvation by grace through our faith in Jesus Christ.  At St. John's, we are faithful to our Reformed forebears in this belief, as we live out our faith today in the 21st century.  The Heidelberg Catechism asks, “Since, then faith alone makes us share in Christ and all his benefits, where does such faith originate?  And the answer given: “The Holy Spirit creates it in our hearts by the preaching of the holy gospel, and confirms it in us by the use of the holy Sacraments.”  We thus recognize the primary importance of the church in our lives as Christians.   We invite you to join us on your faith journey as we unite with our Lord Jesus Christ each week through the ministry of Word and Sacrament.   You will find that we are a people we worship God reverently, but joyfully.  Liturgy and music is blended together in our service so that only our best is offered to God, and that God is truly worshipped “in the beauty of holiness.
